Welcome
Welcome to Youth For Nepal, a new non-profit organization that aims to encourage social entrepreneurship in the fields of education, environment and health by engaging young adults.
We are actively looking for volunteers, especially in Nepal and also in the US. If you are interested, please contact us through the Contact Us page.
More about YFN
We encourage young adults, especially college and high school students, to come up with projects they would like to work on individually or as a team. If approved, we fund these projects and assist with their administration, at the same time, with the expectation that these young adults will own and be responsible for their own projects.
If you or your friends have project(s) that you want to work on, come tell us and we'll work together to make it happen.
For more details on the organization, please refer to our About Us section.
Announcements
May 31, 2008: We have been very busy behind the scenes to get the organization up and running. We recently concluded informative sessions in Ames, IA and New York, NY to highlight the objectives of YFN to the broader Nepali community. In addition, fundraising activities are currently being organized in both these cities to help fund the various initiatives and projects initiated by YFN volunteers and other members in Nepal
We will continue to update this space with more information, as appropriate. We are also looking for additional volunteers to help us become even more efficient in our activities and provide transparency and information to all our supporters.
October 15, 2007: We are now registered in Nepal (with the CDO) and are now working on setting up a bank account and trying to define working relationships with schools.
Events
We are organizing a health camp to educate young school students about health and sanitation issues. The camp will be conducted at multiple schools by bonafide doctors, and will be held in late June / early July 2008. Watch this space for more information.
